SOFT IDLIS
Ingredients:
Urad dal -1/4 cupParboiled rice -3 cups
Poha(puffed rice) -1/4 cup
Fenugreek(methi seeds) -1/2 tsp
Method:
- Soak rice, dal with methi seeds separately for overnight.
- Next day morning soak poha for 1/2 hr before grinding the batter.
- Now first grind the mixture of urad dal
- Next grind rice by adding water little by little.
- Mix both batter by adding salt with hands and make it to ferment overnight or till the batter volume get double.
- Pour this batter in greased with oil/ghee in idli moulds and steam it for 10 min or pierce with toothpick or fork into the idli.
- If the fork/toothpick comes clear it is cooked.
- Serve with coconut chutney and sambar..
